Glenn Souza
Glenn is a transplant from New England and got his start in the landscape industry at Young’s Landscaping on Longboat Key over two decades ago. What started as just a summer job while attending Manatee Community College in 1988, turned into a lifelong career.
Working his way up the ladder from laborer to Operations Manager at Young’s, and eventually to one of the owners at Grants Gardens, Glenn has learned all aspects of landscape design, installation, irrigation, and maintenance literally from the ground up. Along the way Glenn has been involved in the installation and maintenance of numerous high-end residences and large luxury condominiums on Longboat and Lido Key. The Sanctuary, L’Ambiance, L’Elegance, The Water Club, Villa Di Lancia, Vizcaya, and En Provence are a few of the notable projects he has been involved in.
Working with large commercial clients in the maintenance realm like the Longboat Key Club to clients like David Miller, owner of Cannons Marina, Glenn has had the privilege to work with a diverse group of clients with a broad range of landscape needs. Glenn is a Certified Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture and has been certified in Florida’s Best Management Practices. His ability to connect with people on a personal level has allowed him to grow a loyal base of customers, employees, and vendors that is crucial to running a successful business.
Adam Kirkland
Originally from Gainesville Florida, Adam developed a love for plants from his Grandmother who was the head of the Garden club in West Palm Beach Florida.
At the age of 18 he began working at a local nursery in Gainesville. After 8 years in the nursery industry he relocated to Miami where he began working in Landscape Maintenance on some of Miami’s premiere landscapes.
After moving to Sarasota and running a maintenance crew for Young’s landscape on Longboat Key he was promoted to Maintenance Manager.
Adam holds certifications in Florida Green Industry’s Best Management Practices, Florida pest control I’d card holder, and is a Certified Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture.
Ken Harris
Ken is a Native Floridian who has been a Horticulturist and Landscape Professional in Florida for almost 40 years. While in college, Ken began his career by working in landscape nurseries in Central Florida, eventually becoming a Grower and Nursery Manger. His passion for Florida’s Green Industry led him to Landscape Construction and Design, and the opportunity to create long lasting relationships with clients and Green Industry professionals. Ken spent the last 20 years as a business owner in Palm Beach, FL specializing in Estate Management and Fine Gardening for high profile clients and properties in Palm Beach and Jupiter Island. He recently relocated to the Gulf Coast and lives in Venice , Fl.
Brendan Flanagan
Brendan Flanagan was born in St. Thomas, USVI but grew up in Southern Florida. He worked at the Palm Beach International Airport and Tropical Shipping at the Port of Palm Beach as a Heavy Equipment Operator. Brendan joined the US Navy Seabees in 2006 as an Equipment Operator and is a Veteran who served in Iraq in 2008. He holds 50 heavy equipment licenses including 40 ton crane operator. In 2011, Brendan started working at Grant’s Gardens as part of the landscape installation crew.
He quickly showed his ability to work as part of the team and was promoted to Assistant Manager working in the Maintenance Division at the Longboat Key Office. Brendan now oversees multiple maintenance crews, meets with customers to ensure quality control, provides ideas and estimates to renovate landscaping and runs the weekly training meetings for the staff.
Marina Attili
Marina is an asset to Grant’s Gardens with exceptional customer service. She has been a member of staff now for over 15 years and lives out on Longboat Key and has a very loyal following. Her services for ‘Potted Plant Maintenance’ is highly in demand, and we have a waiting list for her services. She specializes in patio gardens and containerized plantings and is loved by her regular customers for her care and consistency. Marina is based out of our Longboat Key office.
Brian Post
Brian grew up In Punta Gorda, Florida and has been working in landscape related fields since he began mowing lawns as a teenager for his father’s company. He spent more than a decade cross-training in pest control, horticulture, irrigation, and landscape maintenance/design aspects. After becoming a father, he went back to college to receive an A.A degree from SCF and a B.A from USF with cognates in Environmental Science and Anthropology.
Brian is a licensed Lawn and Ornamental Pest Control Operator. He earned certificates in horticulture and has been awarded for his volunteer work in the community. He spent 17 years working for multiple award-winning landscape companies in the Sarasota area with a focus on high-end residential landscape installation and maintenance.
Specializing in sustainability and xeriscaping, it is Brian’s passion to create beautiful landscapes with minimal environmental impact. Brian works closely with Peter running the maintenance department and is currently an Account Manager at the Northgate office.
Paul Palmer
Paul’s love for drafting began in high school. He graduated from Gaston Community College with an AA degree in Architectural Technology. He worked for an architecture firm providing 2D and 3D drawings for a variety of commercial projects on Auto Cad.
Paul joined Grant’s Gardens design team in 2005. He quickly developed a passion for plants and landscape design. He is now involved with the entire process from meeting with clients on site, site mapping, drawing, estimating and presenting proposals. Paul developed relationships with subcontractors throughout the industry and builds teams to create a client’s ultimate vision.
Dan Smith
Dan graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Turfgrass Management. He began his career in the golf course construction industry building courses for nearly 10 years with MacCurrach Golf. As the Lead Shaper, he built courses for some of the most well respected modern golf course architects.
Dan went on to work in golf course maintenance as a Golf Course Superintendent in Puerto Rico at Dorado Beach and Sarasota at The Ritz Carlton Member’s Club and the Longboat Key Club Islandside Course. Dan joined Grant’s Gardens in 2014 as the Landscape Coordinator where he manages all aspects of landscape installations for Grant’s Gardens.
